Turns out that the third cut is the deepest as Sir Rod heavily discounts his luxury home
Rod Stewart has slashed the price of his mansion for a third time after two years on the market.
The tag on the rocker’s house in Epping, Essex, started at £7.5million but it fell by £550,000 in November 2016, £1million earlier this year and the latest cut of £1.2million lowered the price to £4.7million.
The First Cut Is The Deepest star, 73, is said to have paid £1.2million for Wood House in 1986. Its brochure tells of “stunning grounds”, include a full-size football pitch where Sir Rod has let his team Celtic train.
He and wife Penny Lancaster, 46, are selling the house, where Winston Churchill stayed during the Blitz.
They have moved to another property, bought for £4.7million in 2013.
Wanna see Rod Stewart mock Argentina for sucking in the World Cup and then defend Sweden?
Great, you're gonna love this clip!
The singer -- who's a MASSIVE soccer fan -- hit up Delilah for dinner over the weekend, when he stopped to talk World Cup.
His big beef ... he thinks Sweden got screwed out of a penalty kick during the match with Germany on Saturday when Marcus Berg had a breakaway shot.
Germany's Jerome Boateng raced in and manhandled Berg -- right in the penalty box -- but somehow, no penalty was called, which really pissed off Fox Sports analyst Stuart Holden.
Clearly, Rod Stewart agrees -- saying, "I think Sweden were robbed of a penalty."
Germany ultimately got the victory -- and now Stewart thinks they've got a real shot.
But the best part of the clip ... we asked Rod what he thought of Argentina and he screamed out, "USELESS!!!!"
He cemented his place as one of the world's best musicians after emerging on the scene five decades ago.

The singer managed to keep his whites white as a glass of red wine got spilled outside a restaurant
ROD Stewart had a near miss while out for dinner with wife Penny Lancaster last night - after almost spilling red wine down his pristine white suit.
The Maggie May singer and Loose Women's Penny were enjoying a slap up meal at celebrity hot spot Scott's in Mayfair on Wednesday evening.
The star, 73, and Penny, 47, sat outside the fish restaurant as they enjoyed their dinner.
But when the couple went to leave, a glass of pinot was knocked over - and narrowly avoided Rod's pristine outfit.
It's not clear how red wine ended up all over the floor as the couple made their exit - it looked as if Penny and Rod had spring water and white wine with their meal.
The couple, who remained stain-free, then made their way to their waiting, chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce.

Despite his rock-and-roll past, Penny has said Rod is very much the “traditional” husband.
From doing the heavy lifting – literally – during their annual Christmas tidy-up to dealing with more serious issues, like helping Penny through her dyslexia battle.
Last year, they celebrated their 10-year-anniversary by renewing their vows at their Essex home.
The pair were later seen getting into their chauffeur driven Rolls Royce
The pair have two kids together - Alastair and Aiden.
Rod has previously called Penny his "diamond" and he loves having her by his side.
He said: "I have been married three times and I say this with all honesty, I have got a great woman now.
“Maybe it is because I am a little bit older and I understand women a lot better than I used to.
"But I have got a diamond by my side now. She really is and I can’t say any more than that.”
