There's always time for football: Rod Stewart takes time out of world tour to visit German soccer
stadium
He has written a song about his love for football and his beloved team Celtic in his hit track, You’re In My Heart.
And it seems that no matter where he is, Rod Stewart is never far from a football pitch.
Taking time out from the German leg of his Live The Life world tour, the singer and wife Penny Lancaster enjoyed a stroll around the stadium of Berlin’s local team
FC Union.
Dressed to impress, the 69-year-old looked dapper in his black and white pin-striped trousers, which he matched with a checked shirt, a black and white shirt and
black V-neck jumper.
Adding to the business-like persona, Rod wore a pin-striped tie and grey blazer jacket.
His 43-year-old spouse kept her outfit simple with a classic little black dress.
Penny, who is of course known for her incredible legs, chose to cover her slender pins with sheer black tights and knee-high boots.
She completed her attire with a fitted black jacket and black leather handbag.
The avid Celtic F.C fan was given a commemorative scarf by the German team, who played against Celtic in July last year.
To Rod’s dismay his cherished Scottish side lost 3-0 in the pre-season friendly match.
A devoted football fan and player, Rod announced that he was hanging up his boots earlier this month.
Speaking on Magic FM's Foxy In The Morning show, he said: 'I'm
playing my last game of football Sunday week, I'm retiring... I'm hanging up me boots.
'I've gotta think of my career, the knees aren't getting any younger you know! I've had a very good run at it, you must admit, 69.
'There's something about Sunday morning football, it's an animal on its own... I'm gonna miss it a lot.
Forever Young Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster prove there's no seven year itch as they enjoy a romantic
Paris sojourn
Daily Mail

One of his biggest hits is called Forever Young and that's what he and third wife Penny Lancaster both seemed like as the 69-year-old and his 43-year-old model
partner sipped coffees in the French capital on Monday.
Looking more like an identikit couple, Rod and Penny appear to be proving there's no such thing as the seven year itch, having now been married since
2007.
The cosy lookalike twosome spent their time lingering over a hot beverage at les Deux Magots cafe before heading off to hunt for bargains at a number of exclusive,
not to mention expensive, Paris antique stores
Rod, 69, and Penny tied the knot in Portofino, Italy, in June 2007, and raise two sons together; Alastair, eight, and Aiden, three.
Although they have now been married for nearly seven years, the Maggie May rocker admitted he has a few tricks up his sleeve when it comes to his seduction
technique
In an interview with US radio host Howard Stern last year, he said: 'You’ve got to understand when you’ve got two small kids and you’re both in bed
and your son comes home through the door and says mum! dad! – We’ve got to fit it in between the children.
Four of them live with me and although it’s a massive house it’s very noisy. We go to Florida three or four times a year and that’s probably when I get my leg over
the most.’
Rod has two children from his first marriage to actress Alana Hamilton - Kimberley, 33, and Sean, 32 - as well as daughter Renee, 20, and son Liam, 18, from his
second union with model Rachel Hunter.
The music legend also has a daughter Sarah, 50, from his romance with art student Susannah Boffey, and a daughter Ruby, 25, from a relationship with model Kelly
Emberg.
When it comes to his third wife Penny though, it seems Rod Stewart knows just how to keep the romance alive. Not only has he taken his missus to Paris for a
romantic getaway, but last week he accompanied her for a night out to a musical.
The couple looked as enamoured as ever as they cosied up on the red carpet ahead of watching the first anniversary gala performance of the popular musical at the
Phoenix Theatre.
Penny, who is of course known for her incredible legs, made sure to show them off by wearing a black minidress with sheer tights. Rod, 69, meanwhile wore a pair of smart black trousers with a grey suit jacket, crisp white shirt and thin black tie

New shoes for Rod
Govan factory is shoe-in for stars
Sir Alex Ferguson and Rod Stewart are just two of the top names to snap up a pair of handcrafted shoes from Buchanan Bespoke Footwear.
The factory is a stone's throw from the Clyde and employs 55 people.
Buchanan Bespoke is part of Buchanan Orthotics, a family-run company that has been making shoes - about 8000 pairs a year; mostly speciality footwear for the NHS and private patients - since
1925.
It is one of only a few independent shoemakers in Scotland, and its Buchanan Bespoke range is a departure for the company, seen as an alternative for men interested in more than the standard
ghillie brogue or black kilt shoe - boring in comparison to Buchanan's offerings - and one in which customers can choose a bespoke shoe of their own tartan or tweed choosing.
They average around £300 a pair.
The company is making a pair for Rod Stewart, using the singer's namesake tartan; has made a pair for Sir Alex Ferguson, commissioned by Irn-Bru as a gift marking his retirement from Manchester
United; and is also currently working on three, shall we say, rather loud red pairs for members of bagpipe group The Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
It is making about 10 pairs a week, each pair is handmade by expert shoemakers, many have been honing their skills for decades.
Factory manager Billy Reid said: "This is where we keep all the leathers. That's the sample shelf. It's a work in progress. That is all the materials we're hoping to use in the future."
Ryan Currie, the marketing manager and person responsible for spearheading the brand, said: "The only thing with wild deer skin is, when you're actually cutting the leather, you have to cut around
the bullet holes.
"We've just sent our first pair to Australia and got a nice e-mail back from the customer saying he loved them. Because it's a made to order service, you build up a rapport with the
customers."
He said the concept was the brainchild of the company's financial controller, who had the idea to manufacture shoes using tartan.
Harnessing the help of Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International - and with Ryan, the forward-thinking next generation managing the marketing - the long-term goal is to drive the
brand into America, Australian and, "anywhere we can," where they hope to tap into expat communities and a worldwide fascination with all things Scottish.
The brand is also in talks with American suppliers.

Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster enjoyed a night off from looking after their two young children.
While the rocker opted for a dark suit and neck scarf, the model wowed in a floral dress, complete with tiered frills along the front.
The 43-year-old toughed up her look with a black leather jacket and silver cross, before finishing off with a metallic clutch and pointy heels.
Rod's biggest fans descend on Walsall
Express and Star
20/03/2014
Hundreds of fans of legendary rocker Rod Stewart descended on the Black Country for a big event filled with live music and the chance to get their hands on signed memorabilia.
The three day event returned to Walsall for the fourth consecutive year and saw around 900 people come through the doors of the Saddlers Club.
The singers sister Mary Cady, also came to the event and some fans even dressed like the rock star.
Signed memorabilia, from portraits to jackets worn by the singer on tour, were auctioned to raise money for The National Holiday Fund for Sick and Disabled Children.
Over the course of the weekend, which had been organised by the Rod Stewart Fan Club, people enjoyed music and covers from bands such as BB3, Stan Terry and Cregan & Co, featuring Rod’s
ex-musical director Jim Cregan on guitar and former X-Factor star Ben Mills.
Dave Reddy, one of the organisers, said: “It gets better and better each year. “The build up to this year has been the best build up we’ve ever had. Rod’s new album, Time, has helped bring
more people down. We’ve had a lot of newcomers this year.”
Kev Freeth, of Northwood Lane, Bewdley, came to the event with his fiancée Helen, 53. The 46-year-old said: “We’ve been to 12 of these events and are massive fans. I had known Helen 16 years ago
through someone else but we met again two years ago at one of these events. We are going to Las Vegas this year to see Rod in concert and we’ll get married there.”

Rod Stewart picks Norfolk jazz band DixieMix to join him on stadium tour
He is the “forever young” legendary rocker who sells out stadiums worldwide. They are a highly rated Norfolk jazz band most likely to be seen playing to a few hundred fans at Lakeside Country Club
in Lyng or at a charity event at the Memorial Hall in Dereham.
But DixieMix, led by Dereham cornetist Simon Nelson, have been selected to join superstar Rod Stewart on his five stadium UK tour in June as his warm-up band.
Mr Nelson said his band were contacted “out of the blue” after Stewart’s agents tracked down their website and invited them to do an online audition.
Three weeks later the news finally arrived that they had been successful and the gigs were in the diary.
He said: “The whole amazing scenario is taking a little time to sink in. After the initial website enquiry there was an agonising wait as demo tracks were bounced across the Atlantic. Then at last
came the exciting news from LCC Live Events – the organisers of Rod’s UK tour - that DixieMix had been offered all five gigs.”
He said that during the wait all the DixieMix band members suffered periods of disbelief, and there was endless online double-checking to make sure it all added up and the offer was genuine.
DixieMix was established six years ago and have earned a huge reputation in the east of England as one of the most lively and enthusiastic bands in the Dixieland genre. Mr Nelson said he
attributes their success to the band’s line-up, the perfect mix of youth and experience, and putting entertainment first.
“We don’t just play for established jazz audiences,” he said. “We are equally at home letting rip with a show designed to please everyone and aim to create an all-round feel-good factor.”
The five stadium gigs will be unlike anything they have every done before but they plan to do exactly what a warm-up band should do. “I’m positive we can get 20,000 feet tapping and set the scene
for a night of music to remember,” said Mr Nelson. “Also there will be a chance to meet the legendary Rod Stewart in person. Everyone who has met him says what a great bloke Rod is and I really hope
I get a chance to talk some music with him.”
DixieMix will be supporting Rod Stewart on Friday June 13 at Brighton football stadium, on Saturday June 14 at Stoke-on-Trent football stadium, on Wednesday June 18 at Taunton county cricket
ground, on Friday June 20 at Blackpool football stadium, and on Saturday June 21 at Falkirk football stadium.
* Ahead of their stadium appearances Norfolk fans can hear DixieMix at a concert at Dereham’s Memorial Hall on April 4 in aid of the Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind. Tickets are £12
and available from Sounds Music in Dereham or by calling 01362 696741.

Rod gig is major coup for concert promoters
The Gazette
10/03/2014
The Gazette’s Hospice Heroes appeal is set for a £25,000 boost as general tickets for Rod Stewart’s Blackpool
gig have sold out.
Concert promoters Cuffe and Taylor, who are behind the event, say only hospitality and coach and hotel packages remain for the gig at Blackpool FC, and they are selling fast.
The Lytham-based promoters have kindly agreed to donate £1 for every ticket sold to our campaign, supporting Trinity Hospice and Brian House children’s hospice. And with a capacity of 25,000, it
is set to provide a massive boost to the appeal.
Director Peter Taylor said: “We are absolutely thrilled by the public’s response to Rod’s return to the Fylde coast after such a long time.
“Fans can’t wait to be part of what promises to be a very special occasion and all tickets on general sale have now gone. The atmosphere at Bloomfield Road on June 20 will be rocking. We know Rod
is looking forward to it, and so are we.
“Fans will really have to move if they are to secure one of the remaining packages as they are also selling quickly.”
Trinity’s fund-raising manager Linzi Young described the general ticket sell out as “amazing news”.
She added: “We are absolutely overwhelmed.
“We knew Rod Stewart was going to attract fans from far and wide but for general admission to sell out so quickly is fantastic news.
“Quite a few Trinity staff members and volunteers have bought their tickets, and I’m sure it’s going to be a memorable night – it will certainly give a massive boost to Hospice Heroes. Huge thanks
to Cuffe and Taylor for making this possible.”
Stealing the limelight! Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly looks glamorous in black strapless jumpsuit as they head out for
dinner
With his wife Penny Lancaster away in London, Rod Stewart took the chance to do some father-daughter bonding on Thursday night.
The 69-year-old singer headed out for dinner with Kimberly Stewart - the second eldest of his eight children - at Craig's Restaurant in West Hollywood.
While the Maggie May hitmaker is used to getting most of the attention, the blonde socialite well and truly stole the limelight as she wowed in a black strapless
jumpsuit.
Rod looked as smart as ever in a black suit jacket and trousers complete with white shirt and he accessorised his look with a black and white spotted
neckerchief.
He injected some roar into his look thanks to his footwear – a pair of three-tone brogue shoes including a patch of leopard print.
Rod looked in great spirits as he headed into the restaurant and gave off a slight smile as he was photographed.
Meanwhile, Penny touched down in London on Thursday with the couple's seven-year-old son Alastair Stewart resembling his father.
The youngster was wearing a Celtic strip – the Scottish football team Rod supports – while walking through the airport.
Taking after his dad: Alastair Stewart wears his father Rod's favourite football strip as he jets into UK with
mum Penny Lancaster
Alastair Stewart proved he takes after his rocker father, Rod Stewart, when he jetted into the UK with his family on Thursday wearing a Celtic football
strip.
His 69-year-old dad is a huge fan of the team and no doubt has encouraged his seven-year-old boy to follow suit.
However, Rod recently revealed he is planning on hanging up his beloved football boots and retiring from playing the beautiful game.
'I've gotta think of my career, the knees aren't getting any younger you know! I've had a very good run at it, you must admit, 69. There's something about Sunday
morning football, it's an animal on its own... I'm gonna miss it a lot.'
The family flit between LA and the UK but when Penny Lancaster, Alastair and younger brother Aiden walked through Heathrow airport, they looked like they might be
here for a while.
With a trolley carrying eleven suitcases and more hand luggage in tow, the family looked like they had packed for every occasion while they're back in the
country.
Penny looked incredibly chic and wore skinny blue jeans which she teamed with a blue and white striped top and a matching furry gilet.
She accessorised with a pair of designer sunglasses, blue flat ankle boots and a leather handbag. The former model looked gorgeous despite wearing minimal
make-up.
And she proved she's not a diva by pulling along one of her many suitcases. The couple's youngest son, Aiden, 3, giggled as he was carried through the airport by
his grandmother.
Rod has eight children by four women, Ruby, Kimberly Stewart, Sean Stewart, Sarah Streeter, Liam Stewart, Renee Stewart as well as Aiden Stewart and Alastair
Wallace Stewart.
He also has a busy summer ahead of him as he has joined forced with Santana for a tour of powerhouse classic rock. The two will bring their 18-date
joint North American tour to the Times Union Center in Albany on May 23.
About the balancing act between Superstar and Super
Dad
Bild De
2/03/2014
The interview with Rod Stewart is at his home place in the guest
house of his estate " Celtic House " in Beverly Hills. The reporter must wait a little to the world star , but she is not waiting alone. Next to her is Bogart , a white German Shepherd and " a very
sweet animal" as the spokesperson for Rod Stewart insurance. And Bogart shows how Liebsein goes : Five minutes calls ( and gets ) it with moist snout petting and crawl units.
Finally, owner Rod stands in the doorway , wearing bright pants , white shirt, straw hat. " My hair sitting today is not ," he says in greeting and chases his dog into the garden.
Bild am Sonntag : Mr. Stewart, because of you I was finally able to quit smoking .
ROD STEWART : As I have done it then? I used the long-haul flight to the U.S. withdrawal . Congratulations, I admire you . I was always Non smoking , but I know how hard quitting. One of my
guys smokes and tried to wean for years. Invite all journalists? Only rarely , but for me this is currently the most practical . I'm in the middle of recording for my new album and need from the
studio just a few steps to the guesthouse . The album is to appear around Christmas time , contains very personal songs , many with the theme of family .
You will also go on tour again. . . . . . and I love that ! If I would have to give at some point , I would miss it sorely .
What to appear for a great job in front of so many people and send them home happy .
If your daughter Ruby accompany you back as a singer ?
She was in South America use probably comes to Europe. How many Dads can say : "I go today with my daughter to work" ? These days have brought us closer together . I'm pretty proud of them. I hope
Ruby is also a bit proud of myself.
By the way, you live here . . . Rod Stewart indicated by the door of the guest house . " Kimberly and her daughter Delilah live there . " The eldest daughter Sarah (50 ) lives in England, son Sean
(33 ) in Los Angeles, daughter Renée (21 ) is currently with friends in New Zealand. Liam ( 19) plays at the Spokane Chiefs Hockey .
Will Ruby also make career as a singer?
Ruby is not sure what she wants to do full time: She can sing, is a successful model and a talented photographer. One of my favorite songs of yours is "I do not wanna talk about it". The away has
helped me over serious heartache. The guy has ever reported back to you? No. Such a bastard! Typically male. Something you would never do? In some life situations I was quite a rat. I've done things
for which I am ashamed today. But that was before. One lives and learns. .
The door opposite opens. Rod: "This is Kimberly with my granddaughter." He stands up, says his granddaughter Delilah "Hi" and sits back in his chair. At the same moment the voice of his wife
Penny drowned out by the intercom: "Darling, would you like a cup of tea?" What does your family? One of the songs, where I work, has the theme. You know, I was a "mistake" my parents came as a baby
of the world, ten years younger than the youngest of my four siblings. In the first years of my life when I was growing up in London, which had bombarded neat way your compatriots. . . . . . sorry. .
. . . . I forgive you. My 16 years old sister Mary brought me up. When my brother got married, I burst into tears because he left me. Apparently, such medals in later life remain. I love it so to
have my children around me. See your adult daughters every day? No, this is a great property , there is not always one runs across the road . It gives me but a good feeling to know that I could see
them at any time. There is again the parallel to my childhood : When my sisters got married, they moved to the corner, lived within 50 meters. This feeling of closeness has remained. Is the bond to
the siblings still so strong?
I have a sister lost ( Peggy died of multiple sclerosis, editor's note ) , but Mary and my two brothers, Don and Bob keep me on the ground. When I am
with them , I can not give the superstar. They would make me a head shorter. For your children , you can win with the Superstar number even a potted plant , right? When Alastair was younger and I
called from the road , he always cried . " Rod Stewart is on the phone " I came home , I was Dad again . You know, my kids can not help it that they never fight so had to like me. You mean because
they come from a humble background ? Course . For example, when my two youngest their supper not want to eat , I tell them : In my childhood, there was nothing else . What I do not want to eat , my
older brothers have snapped and I had no supper. As explained a father who worked his way up to riches , his children the value of money ? As a child I was spoiled not with money but with attention.
As a Dad I struggle constantly to find the right balance between pampering and waivers . One of my daughters recently told me: " You have to treat all children equally . " That I know, but sometimes
I forget that I am one of them $ 100 have slipped . Do your kids never whined when they wanted something ? They were never demanding, that's not her style One of my boys loves cars , houses,
bling-bling . If he asks, " Dad , how should I abkriegen with a scrap cart girl " , my answer is : "I had some scrap carts and have still copped a lot of girls. " At a certain age , it can hardly
expect children leave home . Why live your two daughters still with you? For the standard of living that they enjoy with me, they do not have the necessary income . Patchwork families are the new
type of family. This model can live for 30 years consistently . Sometimes I think it would be nice if all of my children had the same mother . But believe me : That was absolutely impossible! My eyes
were far too long wandering . If the cohesion of your children as much as that other siblings ? Absolutely not. I had an intact home and can not imagine how painful it is when father and mother are
divorced me. Previously regarded a divorce or a child born out of wedlock as a character flaw . Today patchwork society reflects . I believe that going through the ordinariness of a divorce some
couples at the first crisis to the lawyer instead of fighting . There is a law in New Zealand, the distinction consent pairs prescribes a two-year separation period . Maybe a little weird if I just
say that, but that's a great idea.
How has your relationship has changed for fatherhood over the years ?
As Kimberly and Sean were born, I was at the beginning of my career. The two often had to do without me , but I told them later : "Dad has not made party , but worked his butt sore. " Today, I plan
my tours in coordination with the schedules of my sons . You said that each new child is like a new life. . . My life is over , because there are no other children. VergrößernSeit 2007 Stewart with
Penny Lancaster ( 42) married the son Alastair and Aiden are from this marriage
Do you value a tradition as Father's Day ? I kille my kids when they forget him ! I do not need a gift that 's important to me that we go to eat on the day together . Here at home my wife gets
all the attention Penny , I have only this day. If I want to be at the center times , I have to go on tour. When I get back home, it only says : Oh , it's just Dad. Back in Germany waiting for an e
-mail in the mailbox of the reporter : "Dearest Miriam , Fight the good fight , wherever you are and have a pure lung. NO SMOKING! Rod. " Miriam Nyary (43 ) is now a non-smoker for nineteen days
.
