Recent baby rumours pushed Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster back under the spotlight a fortnight ago, and the couple were in high spirits as they dined out in West Hollywood on Wednesday evening.
Rod and Penny’s latest outing came at popular Italian restaurant Il Piccolino, where they enjoyed a slap-up meal before venturing onto the sidewalk later that night.
Arriving in style, ageing rocker Rod, 69, was on gallant form as he opened the passenger door of their gleaming car for his statuesque wife, who put on a typically leggy display in a red leather skirt as she climbed out.
Penny, 43, matched her striking skirt with a loose fitting white blouse, while nude heels completed a rather elegant look for the British model.
With a white handbag completing her ensemble, she was upbeat ahead of her night out with Rod, whose last album release, Time, came in 2013.
As always the husky-voiced singer looked dapper in a houndstooth check blazer, beneath which he sported a smart white shirt and waistcoat.
Sand coloured jeans and a pair of distinctively patterned shoes completed the look, with flamboyant Rod splaying his shirt collar, thus revealing a lengthy silver beaded neck-chain.
The London born singer is a parent to sons Alastair, eight, and three-year-old Aiden with Penny, his third wife.
He also has children Kimberly, Ruby, Sean, Liam and Renee, who carry his name as well as Sarah Streeter – who was initially given up for adoption.
Rod stirred speculation that his current wife was expecting another baby when he rubbed her tummy and pointed down the lense of a camera on the red carpet for the Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills.
However, a rep for new Loose Woman star Penny insisted 'unaware of any news in that regard'.
Rod previously claimed that Aiden would be their last child, saying: 'I'm very happy but it will be the last. I can't have any more kids, otherwise I'll be touring until I'm 90.'
The couple are expected to move their two children back to the UK in 2015 so that the boys can have a private school education.

Competition among integrated hotel-casino-resort complexes within the Naia-Manila Bay area has upped the ante in bringing prestigious international performers and Broadway musicals to the Philippines.
As the three-hotels-in-one City of Dreams prepares to open in the coming weeks, and after Resorts World Manila enjoyed a string of successes with a number of theatrical productions including the Tony Award-winning “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” Solaire Resort & Casino will be staging “Chicago: The Musical” from Dec. 3 to 21 as the inaugural presentation of its 1,760-seat Theatre at the Solaire
But even before “Chicago’s” Manila premiere, Solaire is bringing in British singer-songwriter Rod Stewart for a special one-night gig on the last week of November, either at The Theatre at Solaire or the 1,000-seat Grand Ballroom, according to two sources who requested anonymity.
Not just anybody can watch Stewart’s gig, though. Solaire management will decide who gets in, since the strictly invitational show is being offered only to high rollers, their families and friends.
Apparently this show will take the place of a previously scheduled one that would have featured pop diva Celine Dion, who unexpectedly canceled it, including a separate concert at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, reportedly because she wants to personally take care of her husband René Angélil who’s recovering from throat cancer.
The raspy-voiced Stewart, 69, looks none the worse for wear, judging by videos of his performances this year, most recently at the 4,000-capacity Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas where he’s booked again for nine shows on Nov. 9-23.
His Manila gig at Solaire comes on the heels of the World Poker Tour, which is ongoing till Oct. 28 at the Solaire Poker Room with some $3 million in prizes.
Recognized as one of the world’s most popular singers whose fans span the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s generations, Stewart was a member of The Jeff Beck Group as well as The Faces before achieving fame as a solo artist through such hits as “Maggie May,” “I Don’t Want To Talk About It,” “Tonight’s the Night,” “You’re In My Heart,” “I Was Only Joking,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” among others.

He sparked rumours that there was a third baby on the way with Penny Lancaster last week.
And Rod Stewart was busy proving that he was the ultimate Daddy Cool on Thursday afternoon when he took his young son Alastair out for lunch in Los Angeles in his trainers and hoodie.
The pair dressed in matching football kits, with Rod, 69, supporting his eight-year-old's favourite football team, Glasgow's Celtic FC.
Rod carried a brown paper bag as his son gallivanted around the car park in a green and white striped top, shorts and knee length socks.
The father of eight, who moved to the States in 1975, was keeping it casual on the boys' day out in white washed jeans and tinted sunglasses as his light hair blew into a side parting.
Alastair is older brother to three-year-old Aiden, both Rod's children with 43-year-old Penny, whom he married in 2007.

When you have a wife who is 20 years younger than you and two sons under the age of 10, it's essential that you're fighting fit.
And Rod Stewart proved he was still nimble on his feet as he stepped with wife Penny Lancaster on Tuesday night.
The pair headed to the Bouchan bistro in Los Angeles and the singer couldn't help but act the fool as they made their way in for dinner.
The rock legend, 69, showed off his flexibility by falling into a squat in the restaurant's doorway - much the the bemusement of his glamorous wife.
Penny, 43, looked stunning in a black shirt with sheer panelling as she beamed while the Da Ya Think I'm Sexy hitmaker played up for passers-by, proving he still boasts a cheeky sense of humour well into his sixties.
However, one joke Penny may not have approved of was when the former Faces frontman patted her stomach on the red carpet last week - prompting a series of speculation over whether she was expecting another child.
The couple attended the Mercedes-Benz Carousel Of Hope Gala and Rod set tongues wagging after rubbing her belly in front of photographers.
However, a rep for new Loose Woman star Penny insisted 'unaware of any news in that regard'.
They are already parents to two boys, Alistair and Aiden, and the blonde former model insists the younger of their sons has inherited his dad's rowdy sense of fun.
She told Hello! magazine: 'Aiden used to resemble his daddy but he's more like a Lancaster now as he's got a larger build, the Stewarts are a bit more slender.
'He's got a very funny sense of humour already and is very cheeky though, which he probably gets from his dad
He has eight children in total; Sarah Streeter who was raised by adoptive parents, Kimberly and Sean Stewart from his first marriage to Alana Hamilton, Ruby Stewart from a relationship with model Kelly Emberg, Renee and Liam Stewart with second wife Rachel Hunter and his two children with Penny.
And the wild-haired former hellraiser has already insisted that Aiden was the last of his brood.
He admitted: 'I'm very happy but it will be the last. I can't have any more kids, otherwise I'll be touring until I'm 90.'

He's almost done with his sixties, but iconic rocker Rod Stewart still wants to be the young stud in the cool car.
The Maggie May singer was seen spotted around L.A. on Tuesday, when he had lunch with 27-year-old daughter Ruby at a sushi restaurant close to Beverly Hills.
After they were done, they bolted the restaurant in his Ferrari 458 Spider.
And just in case you're wondering - yes, it's an expensive car.
Car and Driver pins the price tag at the starting point of $257,000.
But it says the cost definitely matches the quality: 'As instruments of pure speed, few cars can touch the 458 Italia series.
The Young Turks singer's look was just as slick as his flashy set of wheels.
He was decked out in an easy-going blue jeans get-up with sneakers and a long-sleeve shirt unbuttoned down to his stomach.
In other words, he definitely looked the part of a rock god.
The helpful restaurant staff were very nice to Ruby as she got into the expensive car
